Art Deco emerged as a style in the early 20th century. Optimistic, it reflected the sensibilities of the time. Think of women in fringed dresses with bobbed hair, champagne coupes and The Great Gatsby. It was a time filled with change and glamour.

To make a space feel special, the key is to pay attention to the details. Fresh flowers, soft bedding and spa features create feelings of luxury and decadence.

Don’t believe us? Just think of the first time you walked into a honeymoon suite.

In a lot of homes, the master bedrooms are the last spaces to receive any design attention. But in our eyes, they deserve so much more. When it comes to creating the perfect suite, we think the details matter so much. From the closet to the bed, we design retreats to support the homeowners’ love for each other.

As interior designers in Kansas City, we’re often asked to create a romantic retreat for our clients. Designing luxurious and sexy spaces is what we do best.
So, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating master suites this week. Each day, we’ll share gorgeous spaces that are designed to pamper. From glamorous to worldly, we’ve found a little something for everyone.
Whether you’ve found your Valentine or are on a quest for love, these rooms are sure to inspire romance.
Tune in every day this week to see some beautiful master bedrooms. We can’t wait to hear which ones are your favorites. Feel free to drop us a note on Facebook and let us know what you like.
As many of you know, I LOVE great details in a space. They make it or break it. Leave a room standard and “done a million times” or take it to a level that makes it memorable and fabulous. One way to do that? I give you the small, interesting table.

Make it fab!

The lovely Susan Britton, a writer for the national site The Examiner, called last month to do an article on me and my firm. We had such a great conversation and chatted for over 90 minutes. She herself is a designer and writes on some of the biggest interior designers and product designers in the country. I can’t wait to read her upcoming articles as her “to-write” list coming up is amazing…but I have been sworn to secrecy!
Thank you so much, Susan! Keep me posted!

There is nothing I love more than fabulous art. I am addicted to all kinds and love depth and meaning in them…pieces that make you think or feel. I prefer to be moved on the left and right side of my brain to think, “Why?” and then care about the answer. But don’t get me wrong, odd pieces can be great fun.
In the world of modern contemporary art, I think layering is essential. It can separate the men from the boys, if you will. Just as it took time to layer the earth to create a living masterpiece, it takes time to layer great art.
To follow are pieces created by a family of painters. I find them very beautiful. Can you guess who may have painted what?
